About the Hackathon

Join us in developing innovative solutions to mitigate and manage the impact of climate change in urban environments like Delhi. This online hackathon brings together creative minds to tackle real-world climate challenges.

  2. Ideate: Choose a challenge and develop your solution
  3. Create: Make a 2-minute video presenting your idea
  4. Submit: Upload your video by the deadline

Challenges

Choose one of these pressing issues to solve:

  1. Excessive Heat Problem: Ideate a sustainable and cost-effective solution to reduce indoor temperatures during extreme heat waves.
  2. Water Logging Problem: Design a solution to prevent water logging during heavy rains, ensuring efficient water management and reducing flood risks.
  3. Uncertain Rains and Agricultural Impact Problem: Create a cost-effective solution to help farmers plan planting and harvesting schedules in response to unpredictable rainfall patterns.
  4. Water Shortage Problem: Develop a solution that encourages efficient use and recycling of water resources in urban environments.
  5. Heat-related Illness Problem: Design a cost-effective solution to detect and prevent heat-related illnesses during extreme heat waves.
  6. Poor Air Quality Problem: Innovate solutions to reduce air pollutants and improve air quality, especially for vulnerable populations.
  7. Groundwater Contamination Problem: Devise strategies to prevent and remediate groundwater contamination from various sources.
  8. Soil Pollution Problem: Create comprehensive soil management practices to mitigate soil pollution from hazardous substances.

 

Submission Guidelines

  • Video length: Maximum 2 minutes
  • Content: Include title, description, and detailed explanation of your solution and hashtags
  • Team: Participate individually or in teams of up to 3 members
  • Focus: Address climate change issues relevant to Delhi, India
  • Format: Software applications, hardware devices, data analysis tools, policy recommendations, or educational platforms,etc.

Evaluation Process

  1. Initial shortlisting of top 20 videos based on views
  2. Jury evaluation to select top 3 solutions
  3. Finalists will be awarded at the InnoHEALTH conference

Timeline

  • Sep 09 – Sep 11, 2024: Jury Evaluation
  • Sep 12, 2024: Result Declaration

Prizes

Top 3 teams will:

  • Awarded for their ideas at the InnoHEALTH conference
  • Winner: ₹25,000
  • First Runner-Up: ₹15,000
  • Second Runner-Up: ₹10,000
